The casing material, design, manufacture and application of brushless motors need to take into account the actual needs of the motor and the usage environment to ensure the stability, efficiency and durability of the motor.
1.High-performance plastics: such as polyimide, polypropylene, nylon, PPS (polyphenylene sulfide), ABS and PC, which are commonly used in brushless motor housings. These materials have the characteristics of high strength, heat resistance, corrosion resistance, etc., which can effectively resist the influence of the harsh external environment on the motor and ensure the stable operation of the motor for a long time.
Polyimide: High strength, high temperature resistance and excellent chemical resistance.
Polypropylene: lightweight and strong, not easy to deform, and has good chemical resistance.
Nylon: abrasion resistant, high strength, high temperature resistant, lightweight, strong and corrosion resistant.
PPS: heat-resistant, high-strength, corrosion-resistant and dimensionally stable, able to maintain stable physical and mechanical properties at high temperatures.
ABS: high strength, high toughness and good heat resistance.
PC: high temperature, high pressure, high viscosity and other characteristics, with good impact resistance and electrical insulation properties.
2.Metal: such as steel, aluminum, etc., with very high strength and rigidity, but heavier and more costly, so it is not common in all types of brushless motors.
3.Carbon Fiber: Lightweight, high strength and rigidity are of interest, but again, the cost limits its widespread use.
Housing Design
Protection level: The shell design of brushless motor usually takes into account its dustproof and waterproof ability, such as IP65 level shell means completely dustproof and splash-proof.
Heat dissipation performance: the design of the housing will also take into account the heat dissipation needs of the motor, through reasonable heat dissipation holes and heat dissipation structure, to ensure that the motor can effectively dissipate heat in the working process, to avoid overheating damage.
Structural strength: the shell needs to have sufficient structural strength to withstand external impact and pressure and protect the internal parts of the motor from damage.
Shell Manufacturing
Molding Process: Housings are usually manufactured through injection molding, die casting and other molding processes. These processes can meet the needs of different materials and shapes of the shell manufacturing, to ensure the accuracy and quality of the shell.
Surface treatment: After the shell is manufactured, it usually needs surface treatment, such as spraying, plating, etc., in order to improve the corrosion resistance and aesthetics of the shell.
